2003 Season in Review

The Joeys finished with a regular 2003 season with a record of 2-7.

Strong wins over Peninsula and Redmond were season highlights.

The Joeys lost close matches to West Seattle (22-10), Seattle (17-5), Budd Bay (15-5) and Tacoma (12-5). Kent, Liberty and Chuckanut from Bellingham, recorded significant wins over the Joeys. In the post-season the Joeys combined with a few West Seattle players to win the festival bracket at the U-19 playoffs
.
Coach Kyle Patrick was assisted by Valley Kangaroo senior side standout Brad Allen throughout the season.

Last year's players - Alex Perkins, Joey Burke, and Josh Stuart are headed up to Bellingham to play for the Warthogs at WWU. Alan Rowland is off to EWU in Cheney to help restart the rugby club there. Senior Nick Brando is contemplating a move to the Valley Kangaroos senior side this coming spring.

2004 Season Preview


Practices for the upcoming 2004 spring season will begin on Thursday, January 29th at Petrovitsky Park at 4:30.

Practices will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the season.

Matches will be held on Fridays with an occasional Saturday match.

All Joey home games will be played at Northwood Junior High.

Coaches Kyle Patrick (work email - kyle.patrick@kent.k12.wa.us - home email kpatrick@tx3.com ), and Brad Allen (brad_allannz@hotmail.com) are preparing for an exciting season.

The club has seven returning players that include Northwest "Logger" representative and fly-half, James Kelly who highlights the list of returning players. James played for the Under-19 Loggers on a trip to University of British Columbia in Vancouver B.C. during the Churchill Cup. James scored the winning try in a Logger victory over the British Columbia Rugby Union, Under-17's. This year's returning players includes fellow four-year starters Props, Brian Ott and Michael Izaak. Center, Greg Scott will be returning for his third season. Bryan Hudson a powerful 8-man will be returning for his second season. Wing, Anthony Householder and Hooker, Daniel Salazar also are returning for their second season. This is a very strong nucleus but the Joeys will be needing a full complement of players in order to have a strong season The schedule is being finalized at this point in time and will be available soon.
